Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD)
Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) is a byproduct of the palm oil refining process. It is obtained during the physical refining of crude palm oil through distillation.
PFAD contains free fatty acids (FFAs), triglycerides, sterols, vitamin E, and various minor components. Free fatty acids are its main component, often exceeding 50% of the total composition.

APPLICATION
PFAD has various applications, including the production of soap, candles, biodiesel feedstock, and animal feed.
In the cosmetics industry, PFAD is used as a raw material for producing emollients and softening agents.

ECONOMICAL
Although considered a byproduct, PFAD holds significant economic value as it can be further processed into high-value products.

MORE
The use of PFAD as a biodiesel feedstock helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels and supports the production of more environmentally friendly energy.
